Clem Bezold is chairman and Senior Futurist at the Institute for Alternative Futures. Trained as a political scientist, he has been a major developer of foresight techniques - applying futures research and strategic planning methods in both the public and private sectors, including consulting for the largest corporations, and nonprofit organizations, US and European governments, and the World Health Organization. As a futurist, he has written or edited several books, including Anticipatory Democracy: People in Politics of the Future and The Future of Work and Health. He is currently leading the Human Progress and Human Services 2035 Scenario effort. He serves as the Consulting Editor for the Journal of Futures Studies and sits on the editorial advisory boards of the journals foresight, Technology Forecasting and Social Change, and World Futures Review.
