Elaine Voces Stedt is the Director of the Children's Bureau Office of Child Abuse and Neglect, providing leadership and direction on the issues of child maltreatment and the prevention of abuse and neglect under the Child Abuse and Prevention Act. Ms. Stedt joined the Office on Child Abuse and Neglect in April 2007 as a Child Welfare Program Specialist. In this role, she served as the Federal Project Officer (FPO) for the Regional Partnership Grant (RPG) Support Contract and several of the Regional Partnership Grantees whose work focuses on increasing the well‐being, safety and permanency outcomes for children and families affected by methamphetamine or other substance abuse. Additionally, Ms. Stedt serves as the Children's Bureau lead on the National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare (NCSACW). Ms. Stedt also serves as the FPO of the Mountains and Plains Child Welfare Implementation Center whose mission is to provide T&TA to States and Tribes on the implementation of strategies to achieve sustainable, systemic change. Previously, she worked for 8 years as part of the Children's Bureau T&TA Network on child welfare capacity building activities and on providing T&TA to State and Tribal child welfare staff on child welfare data and technology. Ms. Stedt has her MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University.
