
DOUGLAS LUMPKIN is deputy director of the Office of Human Services Innovation (OHSI). Created in the August 2014 and housed within the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, OHSI is examining ways to: ? Coordinate services across all public assistance programs to help individuals find employment, succeed at work and stay out of poverty. ? Revise incentives for public assistance programs to foster person-centered case management. ? Standardize and automate eligibility determination policies and processes for public assistance programs. Lumpkin is a reform-minded veteran of Ohio's human services community. He has served as director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services, chief operating and information officer for the Ohio Auditor of State, director of administration for the Ohio Attorney General, and chief operating officer for the Ohio Secretary of State. More recently, Lumpkin coordinated county outreach for Ohio's new integrated eligibility system for Medicaid, food and cash assistance. He also serves on the Central State University Board of Trustees. Lumpkin has a bachelor's degree in biology from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. He grew up in Columbus and is a graduate of Linden-McKinley High School.
