Christy Gleason is senior strategist for Senator Chris Coons, working in the Senator's Washington, DC, and Wilmington, Delaware offices. She advises the Senator on a wide array of foreign and domestic policy issues, serves as liaison to the Senate Ethics Committee, and works to connect Delaware voices with the policy making process in Washington. Her policy portfolio has included foreign policy, global health, housing and community development, equality issues, and judiciary committee matters. Ms. Gleason came to the Senate in 2010 with a background in politics and government service. She managed Senator Coons' 2010 campaign, served in leadership positions in county and state government in Delaware and New Jersey, and managed political operations and campaigns in both states. Ms. Gleason left the Senate to manage Senator Coons' 2014 re-election campaign, returning to government service in January 2015. Ms. Gleason earned her B.A. in political science with a minor in foreign policy at American University, and her J.D. from St. John's University School of Law, where she served as managing editor of the St. John's Law Review. Ms. Gleason lives in Wilmington, Delaware, with her spouse, Dmitry Pilipis, and their toddler, Gideon.
