James Klein leads live event production for George P. Johnson, the world's premier event marketing and experience marketing agency. Drawing on his background in awards show, concert and music festival production, Klein creates spectacular, immersive, large-scale brand activations that push creative and technological boundaries. His shows take audiences on an emotional journey punctuated by unforgettable moments with the aim of deepening the connection between audience and brand.
Klein discovered his passion for exploring the intersection of technology and design at an early age in his native Australia, staging elaborate dance parties for local high school students. By the time he graduated high school he was putting on events for thousands of people. As his events have gotten bigger, his passion for harnessing the power of technology to deliver event experiences that inspire, connect and move people has grown, too. From creating ULTRA Music Festival’s iconic 2013 pyramid stage celebrating the festival’s 15th anniversary to projection mapping the Sydney Opera House with graphics synchronized to the music of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, Klein approaches all design challenges with the same attitude – anything is possible.
In the age of digital simulcast, Klein also brings a unique understanding of how events are captured on camera. He has technically produced a wide range of major live broadcast events from the MTV Music Video Awards Australia to Katy Perry’s “Part of Me” movie premier concert and serves as a partner and executive producer at broadcast company NOMOBO, the world leader in creating, capturing and distributing live music events.
