Karen Parker is senior deputy director for the Business Integration Center with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. In this role she has responsibility for all IT systems and projects for the department. Previously, Parker served as the director of Medicaid Operations within the Medical Services Administration. In this role, she was responsible for Medicaid Payments, Provider Relations, Third Party Liability, and long term care and hospital cost settlements. During her time at MDHHS, Parker has been involved in a number of key health initiatives, IMPACT (Michigan/Illinois MMIS Partnership) and Healthy Michigan Plan, as well as the advancement of Health Information Technology in the state of Michigan. She has over 26 years of experience in health care administration in both the private and public sector.
