Mr. Baker joined UMass Medical School in 2006. Prior to his current role, he was the director of the Office of Health Policy and Technology, responsible for supporting development of new projects and initiatives addressing the intersection of health policy and technology infrastructure for public sector programs at the state and national level. Mr. Baker came to UMass Medical School from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, where he was the director of Administration and Finance and acting chief information officer. Amongst his many accomplishments, he was responsible for selection and implementation of a statewide data collection system to monitor and manage long-term services and supports and for transitioning the state pharmacy assistant program to providing secondary payment under Medicare Part D. Mr. Baker received a master's degree in human services from the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Public Administration, Boston, and a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from Concordia University in Irvine, California.
