Leah Miller is an Ongoing Family Services Supervisor with Fairfield County Protective Services. Leah began her time in Child Welfare in 2012 as an Ongoing Family Services Caseworker, and then spent a year as the Juvenile Court Specialist providing case management services to families as well as training and mentoring Juvenile Court Staff. Although Leah has spent just 5 years in Child Welfare, she spent several years in the field of social services, serving as an Education Liaison at a juvenile detention center. During her time at the detention center, Leah determined the education degree she had just received was, although valuable, in fact not her passion, and she set out to work in social services. Leah spent 3 years providing parent education and direct home based services to low-income and at-risk families and began collaborating with caseworker from the local child welfare agency. It was during this time that Leah realized child welfare, and families were her calling. Leah is married and has 2 children, a daughter who is in her junior year at The Ohio State University, and a son who is in 8th grade. Leah had her first child at a young age, and realizes she was able to pursue a successful career due to the support of her family and that not all individuals have that support. For that reason, meeting families where they are and assisting them with tools needed to meet their own goals and become stronger is her mission.
