Sam Elkin is a Senior Research Associate at MEF Associates. His work has focused on a range of income support programs and other programs aimed at helping low-income families achieve economic self-sufficiency through work or saving. He has been a part of several major studies and evaluations for the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Labor, and Social Security Administration. He led a recent study for HHS's Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation of state efforts to strengthen connections between health and human services programs through data interoperability and systems integration. His current work includes several evaluations and other studies of programs serving populations such as the long-term unemployed, justice-involved fathers, refugees, and individuals owing child support. He holds a Master in Public Policy degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
