
Darnyelle Cmil, Senior Associate at Public Catalyst, has spent 20 years working with children, youth, families, and staff to improve outcomes in child-serving systems. She specializes in bridging the gap between data and frontline practice. Darnyelle is a graduate of the nationally-recognized Data Fellows Program. In her 12 years at the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, she developed expertise in concurrent planning, adoption, and Family Team Meeting facilitation and coaching. She also designed and implemented an innovative parent-child visitation program. Darnyelle has served as the Public Catalyst lead in Washington County PA, Suffolk County NY, State of New Jersey - and now Fairfax County VA - on data analysis, diagnostics, and planning projects that improved outcomes for thousands of children and families. Darnyelle works in New York City, focusing on timely permanency and improving permanency outcomes for children in care. In addition, she serves as Public Catalyst's lead on New York City's Parent-Child Visitation project. Darnyelle is experienced in complex quantitative cohort analyses; the development of qualitative review tools; analysis of qualitative data; business process mapping; and information integration and presentation. She has deep knowledge of social services diagnostics and has successfully planned and implemented a range of projects in child welfare investigations, permanency, foster care recruitment, kinship care, and evidence-based services. Darnyelle has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Social Sciences, a Masters of Social Work, and is a Licensed Social Worker.
