Candy Hill is the Senior Director, Policy and Government Affairs at APHSA serving as the "lead architect" of the Association's influence strategy to position APHSA as a key resource for national policymakers on health and human services and identify opportunities for APHSA members to directly impact policy design. Since arriving in Washington, D.C. over a decade ago, Candy has served as an executive at Independent Sector and led the federal policy and government affairs efforts of Catholic Charities USA to address poverty in America. Candy's roots are in state government having served for more than two decades in administrative and executive positions at the Michigan Department of Human Services. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit-Mercy and a B.Sc. from Alma College with additional training at the Kennedy School, Harvard University.
